WHO WE ARE
What is an Architect Doula™?
An Architect Doula™ is more than a birth worker. An Architect Doula is an educator, advocate, mentor, and community leader who helps individuals and families intentionally design the foundation for healthy pregnancies, healthy births, healthy parenting, and healthy communities.
Just as an architect creates a blueprint before construction begins, an Architect Doula helps families create a blueprint for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, parenting, and lifelong family wellness. The Architect Doula understands that the strongest foundation is not built with bricks and mortar it is built with knowledge, preparation, confidence, support, and informed decision-making.
For Black families, this work is especially important because generations have experienced inequities in maternal healthcare, limited access to culturally responsive education, and disparities in maternal and infant outcomes. The Architect Doula helps transform those realities by equipping families with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to advocate for themselves and thrive.

Our Mission
The Architect Doula™ model equips Black families through education, advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement before pregnancy, throughout pregnancy, during birth, and into the postpartum period. By creating individualized "family blueprints," Architect Doulas empower families to make informed decisions, strengthen support systems, and reduce disparities in maternal and infant health.
Our Vision
To create a generation of informed Black mothers, fathers, teenagers, and families who possess the knowledge, confidence, and support to improve maternal and infant health outcomes while building healthier communities for future generations.
The Six Pillars of the Architect Doula™ Model
WHAT WE DO
Why Architect Doula™ Matters
Black maternal health outcomes improve when families receive trusted information, culturally responsive support, and opportunities to make informed decisions. The Architect Doula™ model shifts the focus from crisis response to intentional planning, recognizing that education before, during, and after pregnancy is one of the most powerful tools for improving outcomes.
The Architect Doula™ does not simply prepare families for birth they help families design healthier futures.

"We don't just prepare families for birth. We help them design a healthier future,
one blueprint, one family, and one generation at a time."
